I think i finally found my topic for my essay.
I am going to write about the first time in my season of cross country where i ran the whole 6 miles.
what do you guys think?
comments please =]
That sounds like a great idea! Not all sports writing has to be about winning the "big game"--there's lots to learn beyond the "thrill of victory", or maybe it's a matter of defining what victory means. (Maybe that's what you're getting at??) You probably will want not just to describe that race, but to describe the process of getting to that point.
(One of my daughters wrote her college application essay about cross country. She was usually, at best, in the middle of the pack, but it was still very important to her, in terms of what she got from her teammates--there was one girl who always finished dead last who was a great inspiration to her. What has *your* cross-country experience taught you?)
